One of The Best Parties
Stacey Lynn Marzilli and Benjamin John Percia
Stacey Lynn Marzilli and Benjamin John Percia first met in high school, but the roots of their friendship truly began to blossom in college while they both attended the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. After they graduated, an eight year friendship gave way to an unexpected romance when a casual dinner with an old, close friend, turned into a first date for the couple.
But, shortly after "this date," Stacey relocated to New York City for work and Ben stayed in Boston for his job. Though their careers kept them apart for many years, the bond they formed was too strong and Stacey realized that Massachusetts was where she wanted to call home.
She moved back to Boston in September of 2008 to be closer to her family and, of course, to Ben. After a three-year courtship, Ben proposed to his best friend on February 13th, 2009 at the Bryant Park Hotel in New York City. Following the surprise proposal, Ben had planned another surprise: dinner with 12 of their closest friends. The next morning, knowing that Stacey would have always wanted to share this moment with her parents, they left for Palm Beach, Fla., to enjoy the rest of the weekend with their families.
They were married just over a year and a half later near Stacey’s family's home on Cape Cod. After a traditional church wedding, the bride and groom, along with their 200 guests, continued their celebration at Wychmere Harbor Club. It was a perfect day where most everything exceeded their expectations … even the weather, which was questionable when the day began.
With the help of their amazing vendors, and the bride’s mom Peggy (who acted as wedding planner), they created the simple, yet elegant ambience that they had always wanted. An ivory and blush color palate using mostly Sahara roses, candelabras and oodles of pearls. Most importantly, with the help of their family and friends, they created one of the best parties that they had ever been to. One of the most memorable moments was when the groom’s younger sister, Ana, stole the show on the dance floor. The band graciously handed her the microphone so that she could belt out the words to her favorite song: “Stand By Me.” As the bride and groom watched all of their loved ones come together to join her in song, they knew just how truly blessed they were to have all of those people there with them to help celebrate this special day.
